US News

The list includes 104 ranked and unranked regional colleges that focus on undergraduate education, but grant fewer than half their degrees in liberal arts disciplines.

The U.S. News ranking system rests on two pillars. The formula uses quantitative measures that education experts have proposed as reliable indicators of academic excellence and what they view is important in quality education, such as first-year student retention, graduation rates and the strength of the faculty.

Best Bang for the Buck

MMC one of only two South Dakota higher education institutions listed in this category. This listing is based on the economic value students receive per dollar spent on their education. The ranking takes into consideration the colleges in America that do the best job of helping students attain marketable degrees at affordable prices. Only 344 of more than 1,500 colleges and universities made the cut as best bang for the buck schools.
