Club Description

Mount Marty has recently introduced a new club to the school; the Mount Marty Archery Club. Within the first year the club has managed to dip its toes into the collegiate world of archery, competing in a variety of competitions including indoor, outdoor and 3D. The styles of shooting include Men/ Women Compound, Men/ Women Recurve, and Men /Women Bowhunter. The club is competing among 70+ schools in the Nation. This will be their second year of competition and they hope to better their 10th in the Nation status.

The club is open to any full-time students who want to come out and see what archery is all about while having a good time. There is no experience required and entry level equipment will be available. This will include compound and recurve bows. The requirements are as follows, student must meet and maintain at least a minimum of 2.0 GPA and maintain a full time student status (12 credits).

Students interested in the Club are more than welcome to shoot just for fun while other students interested in the competitive side will shoot qualifying scores to achieve funding to the collegiate tournaments. The club is busy doing fundraisers and practicing during the fall semester. When the spring semester arrives, the club will be traveling to multiple tournaments around the United States. The Club has practices weekly, involving friendly competition and coaching from a one of a kind, Elite Coach. Among traveling, students are able to achieve awards such as: Best New Archer, All-Region, All-American, and All-Academic. The club wishes to grow and improve each year on Mount Marty Campus.

Ranking:

• Bottom - Qualified to compete/no funding
• Middle - Qualified to compete/partial funding which includes travel expenses. Archer must pay own entry fee to the tournament
• Top - Qualified to compete/full funding which includes entry fees to tournament and travel expenses
• No food expenses will be included for any of the rankings
