Blaschke to Join MMC Track and Cross Country Programs
Gage Blaschke, of Sioux Falls Lincoln High School, is the newest addition to the Mount Marty College track program. He will aid the Lancers in both track and field events, as well as cross country.
MMC head track coach, Randy Fischer, said, "Gage is a very talented young man. We are very fortunate to have him attending Mount Marty College next year." Blaschke's past season statistics were: 800 - 2:05.00; 1600 - 4:40; and 3200 - 10:25.6.
Blaschke earned a 28th place finish at the state AA cross country competition in 2011 and has earned numerous awards and honors for his participation in the sports, including: Best Freshman, Patriot Pride (two years), four time varsity letter winner in cross country and three time varsity letter winner for track.
Active in the community as well, Blaschke participated in Christ the King youth group, church choir, was a confirmation volunteer, achieve volunteer, a member of his school’s concert choir, Senior Honor Choir (two years), All State Honor Choir (two years), Regional Honor Choir (two years), NAFME National Honor Ensemble, and lettered all four years.
Blaschke plans to major in biology at Mount Marty College. He has been awarded the MMC Prestigious Trustee Scholarship, a Catholic Leadership Award, and a Fine Arts Award in addition to his athletic awards for Track/Cross Country. Blaschke is the son of Dave and Mercedes Supik and Vaughn Blaschke of Sioux Falls, SD.
