Mount Marty College Homecoming Royalty Announced
The Mount Marty College faculty, staff, and student body recently voted for homecoming royalty candidates among its eligible senior class. Five men and five women were chosen to be candidates for Lord and Lady Marben as part of the 54th Annual Homecoming Coronation taking place at 8:00 p.m. in the Cyber Cafe on the Yankton campus. Coronation is one of many student activities scheduled during the week long "Mount Marty Gras" celebration, which begins with a 4 p.m. homecoming Mass on Sunday the 27th.
The five women chosen were: Holly Byrkeland, elementary education, of Algona, IA, daughter of John and Beth Byrkeland; Sarah Crosgrove, elementary education, of Ponca, NE, daughter of Kent and Kathryn Crosgrove; Brittany Little, elementary education, of Castlewood, SD, daughter of Donald and Peggy Little; Haley Lind, history and secondary education, of Marathon, IA, daughter of Steven and Karen Lind; and Jessica Wolles, elementary education, of Dell Rapids, SD, daughter of Dave and Deb Wolles.
The five men chosen were: Daniel Filsinger, graphic design + media arts and business administration, of Clearwater, NE, son of Kevin and Celine Filsinger; Joshua Homme, nursing, of Papillion, NE, son of Michael and Michelle Homme; Brett Korth, business administration, of Plainview, NE, son of Dave and Kim Korth; Peter Prostrollo, criminal justice, of Sioux Falls, SD, son of Jim and Ruth Ann Prostrollo; and Weston Swanson, history and secondary education, of Homer, NE, son of Jim and Mary Swanson.
Lord and Lady Marben will be crowned by last year's Lord Marben, Nathan Roach, of Norfolk, NE.
The week's homecoming activities will conclude on Feb. 2nd with men's and women's basketball games against Briar Cliff University beginning at 2 p.m. and a dance later in the evening.
