Wagner Signs with Mount Marty College
Mount Marty College is pleased to announce the athletic signing of Logan Wagner of Parkston, SD to play women's basketball and participate in golf for the Lancers next fall.
Wagner, a 5'7" guard and point guard has been an important player at Parkston High School. For 2012 she averaged 12 points, 5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 2 steals per game. She shoots a 41% field goal percentage, a 43% three point percentage and a 60% free throw percentage.
With over 1,000 career points, Wagner was named All-Conference on three occasions, was the Team Captain two years in a row.
For golf, Wagner was part of the two time state championship team in 2009 and 2012, and the 2011 state runner ups. Individually, she placed 7th in 2009, 3rd in 2011, and 9th in 2012 and was named All-State in 2011. At Parkston High School, Wagner was named Most Valuable Golfer and was also on the Role of Excellence.
Lancers head women's basketball and golf coach, Tom Schlimgen, sees a promising future with the signing of Wagner. "We are looking forward to having Logan join both our basketball and golf programs. We know her dedication to both academics and athletics will be a great addition to Mount Marty College. The knowledge and competition she has received from the strong Parkston golf and basketball teams will certainly help her in the jump to collegiate athletics."
In addition to her basketball award Wagner is also receiving an academic merit scholarship. The daughter of Gregg and Rita Wagner of Parkston, SD she is undecided in her major at Mount Marty College.
