Published Date6\6\2013
Mount Marty College is pleased to announce the commitment of Brandon Hegge of Crofton, Nebraska to attend Mount Marty College this fall and participate in the baseball and golf programs.

Hegge recently graduated from Crofton High School and played American Legion Baseball for Crofton and participated in the state tournament two of the last three years with the team. He played infield and pitcher for the Crofton Legion Team and the Lancers look to utilize him as an infielder on the roster. During his junior summer legion season Hegge batted .360 with 20 runs scored, 15 doubles, 2 triples, and 27 runs batted in.

Mount Marty College head baseball coach, Andy Bernatow, is excited about the commitment of Hegge to the Lancer Baseball program, "I'm excited to have Brandon as well as the Hegge family in our program. We now have two Hegge's in the program as Brandon is the cousin of recent program commit, Ben Hegge. Brandon has been coming to the MMC Baseball camps the past few years and has been a great kid to work with. We look for this commitment to provide depth to the infield."

Tom Schlimgen, Mount Marty College head golf coach, is looking forward to the addition of Hegge. "Brandon is going to be a great addition to our team. He brings a lot of experience and is a natural athlete. His signing is a great addition to the MMC community."

The son of Kelly Hegge and Mindy Hatch, Brandon will major in criminal justice at Mount Marty College. Hegge will receive an honors scholarship in addition to his baseball and golf awards.
