Center for Active Learners to Host Informational Reception Sunday

The Center for Active Learners will host an informational reception Sunday, March 23 from 2:30-3:30 p.m. The event will be held in the Cyber Cafe on the Mount Marty College Yankton campus. Supported through the Benedictine Institute of Leadership, Ethics and Social Justice, the Center for Active Learners provides educational opportunities to enrich the lives of those who wish to indulge in learning for its own sake. Instructors will be sharing details about their courses and refreshments will be served for anyone interested in learning more about the upcoming spring session.

Classes set for the spring session, which begin the week of April 1, include the following: MEET POPE FRANCIS , led by Dr. Terry Lafferty, Tuesdays 10:30 - Noon; CAPTURING LIGHT (Photography) with Mario Suriani, Thursdays 1:00 - 2:30 p.m.; ISLAM with Dr. Paul Anders, Thursdays 10:30 - Noon; BIRD WATCHING BASICS with Roger Dietrich, Tuesdays 9:00 - 10:30 a.m.; AUTHENTIC AND ENDURING VOICES OF THE HOLOCAUST with Dr. Jan Hausmann, Tuesdays 1:00 - 2:30 p.m.; and FROM THE BOX SCORE TO THE BOOKSTORE: SPORTS IN LITERATURE with James Cimburek, Wednesday 10:30 - Noon. Each course meets a total of four times, once per week.
