The Mount Marty College men's soccer program is pleased to announce the athletic signing of Mel Gabel of Edmond, Oklahoma to play soccer for the Lancers this coming season. Gabel will graduate from Deer Creek High School this spring.

"We are very excited to have Mel join our soccer program," stated MMC head men's soccer coach, Nathan Epp. "He has good size and is athletic, but is also very smart and is an experienced defender, which is a significant position of need for us. We expect him to make an immediate impact on our program."

In addition to his soccer award, Gabel is also the recipient of an Academic Excellence Scholarship in addition to one of Mount Marty College's Prestigious Academic Scholarships, the Scholastica Scholarship.

Epp continues, "Mel is not only a great athlete but an excellent student. He will be a positive addition to the MMC community and student body." Gabel, the son of Mel and Vanessa Gabel, plans to major in biology/pre-med at Mount Marty College.
