MMC Athletics Hosts End of Year Athletic Ceremony

The Mount Marty athletic department will host it End of the Year Athletic Ceremony on Sunday, May 4 in the Roncalli Building on the campus of Mount Marty College. The event will start with a social at 1:30 P.M. in the Welcome Center followed by the ceremony in the Cyber Cafe. Scott Kooistra of KYNT 1450 AM will emcee the event.

The ceremony will include the 2014 Hall of Fame inductions of Eliza Lelouz, Matt Tereshinski, and Audra Tramp Tonn. In addition to the Hall of Fame inductions the Senior Student-Athlete Awards, Lancer Club Scholarship Awards, Champions of Character Award, and the Yankton Quarterback Club Mount Marty College Athlete of the Year Awards will be presented. The public is invited to attend with no admission charged for this event.

Audra Tramp Tonn, a 1996 MMC graduate, was a three-time team MVP and was in the Lancer top 10 career charts for basketball in 14 of the 17 statistical categories which included six school records when her career ended. Tonn was also recognized as a three-time, First Team All-Conference performer, named to the NAIA Midwest Independent All-Region Team and was named NAIA Honorable Mention All-American as a senior. She finished as the all-time leader in 3 point shooting, and was in the top eight in scoring, rebounding, steals, and assists.

Eliza Leloux, a 2003 graduate, was a two sport star and a four time Academic All-American in track and basketball. The two time MVP of the track squad, she earned All-American honors in the shot put four times. Leloux was a three time conference champion, and was named All-Conference 12 times in track - in the shot put, discus, and javelin. She was also twice named to the All-Conference honor squad in basketball and was named WBCA HM All-American in basketball her senior year.

Matt Tereshinski, a 1999 graduate, was a four-time 1st team All-Conference performer and a big part of the programs 109 wins. Tereshinski goes down as one of the most honored baseball player during one of the best four year periods of Lancer baseball. He was named All-Region and was the SDIC Player of the Year his last two years. During his tenure, the Lancers won 3 Conference Championships and 2 Conference tournament championships. He ended his career on 8 statistical top 5 charts for the Mount Marty College program.
