Mount Marty College-Watertown Spring Commencement to be Held

Mount Marty College's Watertown location will host its spring 2013 commencement exercises at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 3 at Holy Name Catholic Church, 1009 Skyline Drive. David W. Johnson the Chairman, Reliabank Dakota, will deliver the commencement address.

David W. Johnson started serving as the CEO of Reliabank (formerly known as Farmers State Bank of Estelline) in 1976. David graduated from Augustana College in 1974 with a BA in Economics. While at Augustana, he spent his junior year at the Schiller College, Heidelberg and London, studying economics. Then went onto the Graduate School of Banking – Colorado (GSBC) where he graduated and then taught in Boulder, Colorado for one year. He later volunteered for the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), where he was able to teach American Banking Methods to bankers who were emerging from the fall of the former Soviet Union, in Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, in 1995 and 1996.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, David served as the past President of the Independent Community Bankers of South Dakota (ICBSD), past President of Watertown Rotary and the past Assistant District Governor for Rotary District 5610. David and his wife Janet, who is an Adjunct Professor of English at Mount Marty College-Watertown, have two sons and three grandsons and are proud to call Watertown home.
